Charity shops Β· Retail Gift Aid
Retail Gift Aid without the clipboard
Selling donated goods as the donor's agent can add 25% to what your shops raise β but only if you can re-identify every donor at the till. We're building a way to do that in seconds, with no shop hardware.
The bits that make Gift Aid painful here
The Donor-ID hunt
Incumbent systems make volunteers look up a donor's number and print a bag label for every drop-off. It's slow, and donors forget their ID.
Tablets in every shop
Hardware-based systems want a device in every store β a capital cost that's hard to justify for a small chain of shops.
The 31 May letter mountain
Retail Gift Aid requires end-of-year letters to donors by 31 May, with thresholds by method. Done on paper, it's an envelope-stuffing marathon.
How we help
A donor wallet pass
After a donor signs up once, we send them a pass for Apple or Google Wallet. In-store, a volunteer scans it in seconds β the donor always has it, and it can't be left at home.
Private by design
The pass is an opaque, revocable token β never the donor's address in a QR. The volunteer sees only what they need: a name and a βdeclaration valid β β.
Letters by email, not post
Because we capture the donor's email at sign-up, those 31 May letters can go out automatically by email β not stuffed into thousands of envelopes.
For groups & umbrella bodies
This one's on the roadmap β register your interest
Retail Gift Aid is deep water, and we're building it carefully. If you run charity shops and want the donor wallet pass, tell us β early partners help us shape it, and get first access.
Rethink Retail Gift Aid
No Donor-ID lookups, no shop tablets, no envelope mountain. Register your interest and we'll keep you posted.
